Burglary Dwelling

Brownhill Lane, Uppermill – Offenders approach the property via the front garden and prised open a wooden panelled door at side of property.  Several cameras were stolen.

Ripponden Road, Denshaw – Offenders forced a window to gain access to a locked caravan and stole a variety of items.

Burglary Other

Knarr Barn Lane – Offenders smashed a 5ft fence panel and removed a padlock from an outbuilding. Engineering equipment was stolen.

Vehicle crime – Theft of A Vehicle

Dorset Avenue, Diggle – An insecure, unattended vehicle was stolen.

Huddersfield Road, Denshaw – Vehicle stolen. Thieves gained access by smashing one of the vehicle’s windows.

Denshaw Road Delph – A securely locked motorcycle was stolen.

Criminal Damage

Huddersfield Road, Delph – A vehicle was damaged

Huddersfield Road, Diggle – Two vehicles were damaged

WARNING!! Frosty mornings are here again, the police are strongly advising that you DO NOT leave vehicles running and unattended whilst they defrost.

Hoax Phone Calls

The police have recieved numerous reports from residents regarding hoax phone calls. These have included, scams about private pensions and loans taken out in the last 10 years. Residents have been asked for personal details or to press numbers on their phone’s keypad.  You are strongly adviced to not give out any personal details or pess any numbers on your keypad. Pressing numbers on your phone when instructed to do so will link you to a premium rate number and could cost anywhere between £5 and £15 per minute. The simple way to protect yourself is to hang up.

Greater Manchester Police are asking that residents be extra vigilant and security conscious over Christmas, reporting any suspicious activity/persons IMMEDIATELY.
