A motorist has died following a road traffic collision in Diggle.
Shortly after midday on Wednesday 2 November 2011, police were called to Huddersfield Road, Saddleworth, following reports of a collision.
Officers who attended the scene discovered a Nissan Micra had collided with some railings close to a notorious bend on the A62.
It is believed that the motorist got out of his car and was hit by another vehicle, a Volkswagen Passat.
The man was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Part of Huddersfield Road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident.
