Rebecca Laithwaite

Police are appealing for information after a 13-year-old girl has gone missing from home in Diggle.

Rebecca Louise Laithwaite was last seen at around 4.45pm on 20 November 2012 at a bus stop on Huddersfield Road in Diggle, near to her home. It is believed Rebecca got on the number 184 bus, which goes via Oldham to Manchester city centre, but it is not known where she got off. She has not been missing before. Rebecca is white and has straight, light brown hair with brown eyes. When she was last seen she was wearing a cream walking jacket, black leggings and black pumps.

Detective Sergeant Mark McDowall from Oldham CID said: “Rebecca’s family are understandably fraught with worry as their young daughter has not returned home last night, which is out of character for her. We are appealing to anyone that has seen or spoken to Rebecca since late yesterday afternoon to get in touch with us and tell us where. Similarly, if Rebecca herself can see or hear this appeal, then please be assured you are not in any trouble, but both your family and the police just want to know you are safe, so please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at Oldham on 0161 856 8951 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
