In a collaboration with the Saddleworth Medical Practice and the Patients Participation Group (P.P.G.) a survey of patients needs is being carried out in the saddleworth area. Royce Franklin, the newly-elected Chair of the P.P.G. stated that, ‘In the recent past I have had experience of most of the practices in Oldham and I can say categorically that the Saddleworth Practice is one of the better ones in the area.  That is not so say there can not be improvements and the practice is keen to dicover what patients think.’

To elicit views from people registered with the Saddleworth Medical Practice, a proforma has been compiled which is available both in the surgery and on line at www.saddleworthmedicalpractice.com.  The survey will also be posted out to a random selection of patients.  If you are a patient at the practice and would like to participate please complete the survey, and either send it to the practice by post or place it in the box in the waiting area at the medical centre by 30th  November.

When patients’ responses have been collated, priorities will be determined and an action plan devised by the Practice and the P.P.G. together.  This will then be submitted to the Primary Care Trust who will respond accordingly.  Royce Franklin concluded:  ‘Please take part and help your practice to improve the service it provides.’
