Concerned Neighbour & Parent

I write as both a parent and resident directly opposite the proposed site. It goes without question that the school facilities for the children of Saddleworth need to be on a par with those that other children within the borough enjoy. My concerns focus on poor choice of location and grave budget restraints.
With a budget 50% lower than other school rebuilds in the region, a site with major access, drainage and flooding issues this is a project destined to fail!
Once the truly ugly (has anyone pictured the Watershed academy on the proposed site??) building blots our beautiful landscape, simply plonked directly on the roadside with no thought to set it back further into the vast palletworks site, and the issues including flooding, drainage, access and poor build quality rear their ugly head what will the council do? Where will the budget to put right the wrongs come from?
With the original site sold for aspirational housing our well known ‘community’ builder will be rubbing his hands together with glee. Wake up Oldham council you need to explore the improvement and development of the existing site not shred the community and infrastructure of Diggle by wasting your budget on a site flawed with issues!
