27th February

22nd May

21st August

27th November – also the AGM

Uppermill Community Action Network (UCAN)

In addition to the Community Association, there is also an Action Network, that has adopted the section of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal that runs through Uppermill from Wade Lock to Wool Road
Based around the canal, working with the Canal and River Trust, the group holds regular canal tidying events including vegetation clearance [especially Himalayan Balsam], wild flower planting, litter picking, lopping, lock gate maintenance and painting, towpath improvements and other tidying and maintenance jobs along the canal.

Defibrillators

With the kind support of NWAS, we will soon have two Community Public Access Defibrillators (cPAD) in Uppermill:

  • Next to the Door of the Civic Hall, Lee Street, Uppermill, OL3 6AE
  • At a second location on the High Street, Uppermill – to be advised

Anyone can use these devices to save a life (even without training)
Although NWAS have already kindly provided basic CPR and defibrillator training for a number of people in the village.

We are hoping to arrange further free training for the public next year – if you are interested in attending a course, please fill in the form below.
