Saddleworth School

Saddleworth School is celebrating news that money will finally be released, under a rebuilding programme, to make long awaited improvements to the school. How complete the refurbishment will be depends on what share of the £2.4 billion they receive.

Debbie Abrahams, MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, said: “Having visited and seen first hand the constraints the hard working staff, pupils and parents were working under I’m delighted that, after months and months of delay, Saddleworth School has finally received the funding needed to upgrade their facilities and I know it must be a relief for them that the wait is finally over. It’s been so frustrating for everyone concerned that the funding announcement is so behind schedule and especially when you consider that plans to improve the school were started in the summer of 2010.”
