National Heritage Weekend – Saddleworth St Chad Church, Church Road, Uppermill, Oldham

Following on from last year’s Heritage Open Days, the church will once again open its doors to all over the weekend at various times; Friday 7th September: 10am – 4pm, Saturday 8th September: 10am – 12 noon then 3pm – 5pm (access may be restricted if a wedding is taking place). Sunday 9th September: 1pm – 4pm.
Things of interest will be access to births, deaths and marriage registers, tours of the bell tower ringing room and information about the 800 centenary in 2015.
For the first time Saddleworth Rushcart banners will be on display in the church and a representative for the Morris Men will be in attendance to talk about the history of this local festival.
There will be children’s activities and refreshments available and the ground floor of the church is accessible to all. Photographs are permitted and admission is free.
