At 10.30 pm on Tuesday 17th January police were called to a house on Clydesdale Rise, Diggle to investigate reports of a stabbing.
Officers attending discovered that a young man, about 20 years old, had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
The incident is thought to have taken place in the car park behind Kiln Green Church. Police cordoned off the area whilst they carried out their investigation.
There was a small black hatchback parked on the car park but it is not known if this is connected to the incident.
