Debbie Abrahams, MP for Oldham East and Sadddleworth, has launched a survey on her website as part of her commitment to develop a ‘constituency strategy’.
The themes for the questionnaire, which will also be delivered to every household in the constituency in a newsletter, were developed from a series of ‘round table’ events that were held over the last few months.
Debbie said: “I made a commitment when I was elected as MP to focus on what is important to my constituents. So, over the last few months I have been meeting with people and organisations across Oldham East and Saddleworth identifying their priorities.
“These ‘round table’ events looked at a number of areas such as the economy; business and employment; education and training; housing and the environment; health and social care; transport; crime and community safety and social cohesion. We also looked at the needs of different age groups and areas in the constituency.
“The feedback from these events has been invaluable and I’d like to thank everyone who was involved. From this a number of themes have emerged so now it is over to the general public.
“I am asking everyone who can to please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire on my website or fill out one of the copies that we will be delivering to households across the constituency over the next few weeks and return it to me at the freepost address.”
The closing date for returning the survey is 31st July and Debbie will be publishing the action she will be taking to address the issues raised in a constituency strategy in the autumn.
The questionnaire is on www.debbieabrahams.org.uk
Hard copies will be delivered to all households over the next few weeks.
